About

Hi, I'm Ala Eddine Boukhili.

I build Reflect, an independent diary app for iPhone and Android.

Reflect is not a venture-backed company with a content team. It's an app I design, build, and support myself, and I wrote or edited the articles on this site.

I started building Reflect in February 2026, and I’m still the one person behind all of it: the app, the backend, this website, and the support inbox. The iPhone version came first; the Android version followed in September 2026. From the start I built it for ten languages rather than adding translations later, because a diary is the one place you should be able to write in the language you actually think in.

What Reflect is

Reflect is a diary app for iPhone and Android, available in ten languages: English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German, Arabic (with a right-to-left layout), Korean, Japanese, and Hindi. You can write, dictate by voice, add photos and voice memos, track your mood, and photograph pages of a handwritten paper diary to turn them into searchable entries.

A few decisions shape the whole app:

How the articles here are written

I write the articles on this blog myself, sometimes with help from writing tools. Here's what I hold them to:
